I took some of the books that my aunt sent down (thank you, Aunt Kutchy) and donated them to the Haines City library. They were very appreciative. And I also checked out several books for my mom.
Here's how the conversation went between me and the male librarian:
Him: You know, we have a books-by-mail program that your mother may be interested in.
Me: Oh, thanks, but we're already signed up.
Him: Need some help with these books out to your car? (Note: 6 books.)
Me: Sure, then you could bring in the box of donated books.
Pause for walk out to car.
Him: Well, come on back in the library and I'll give you the paperwork.
Me: She's already signed up, what do I need paperwork for?
Him: I'll give you a flyer.
Me (grudgingly): OK.
Inside the library.
Him: Here's a handout. It lists the library hours and phone number. Feel free to call at anytime and ask for me.
And I thought "oh, no, surely this guy isn't hitting on me." In Haines City???? At the library???
Right dude. As if.
