After being on hold for 20 minutes for a representative to answer the call, the following occurred:
Me: I'm calling because there is condensation forming at the inside top of the refrigerator.
Her: I'm sorry to hear that, ma'am. (note: I HATE being called ma'am). What is the confirmation number?
Me: Confirmation number? And I paused, then said that there is no confirmation number. I said condensation.
Her: Oh, OK, who did you have that conversation with?
Me: Not conversation. Condensation.
I felt like I was in an Abbott & Costello bit, ala "Who's on first?".
I asked her to put somebody on the line that could speak English. She got indignant and said "I speak English, ma'am, and if you want to talk to somebody else you can hang up and call back."
I told her I wasn't going to call back and wait 20 minutes for my call to be answered and let's just take our time with this and get it done.
Bottom line: repair technician is scheduled for Monday 8am-12n.
Whew.
