MIddleton HS Homecoming

8:00pm
Our club provided cars for 3 different high school homecomings on Friday night. We selected the inner-city school, since that was the closest to us. It poured rain all day on Friday, but at 6pm it stopped. You'll see that the pavement is still wet from all the rain.

I'm the Co-Homecoming Coordinator for TampaBayVettes, and my cell phone was ringing off the hook on Friday with members asking "is the homecoming still going to happen?" Hell, I don't know. I haven't heard anything from the schools, and it's their party and it would be their to cancel or not. Just show up. ha!

Here's me, at the high school, with our car all wiped down.
Me and Peter.
Me and my girlfriend, Vicki (middle) and her pal, Holly. Vicki's car is absolutely gorgeous - black convertible top, black interior and black paint.
The cars are all lined up on the track, waiting for the homecoming king and queen candidates to arrive. I have a red furry throw rug that I put on the roof of the car, after the removable top is taken off. This rug provides stabilization for the girl plus keeps the car paint from getting scratched from the sequins on her dress. Horror of horrors.
Here's me b.s.'n with Vicki before the candidates are brought out.Since our car was first, we had the Freshmen members of the court. She was very pretty, and her escort was so very nervous.

We went around the track 2-1/2 times then stopped at the 50 yard line of visitors side for them to get out of the cars. During our first lap, I told the guy that he'd need to buckle his seatbelt, as I was getting an in-dash message "buckle passenger seatbelt", plus the car was chiming at me.

He said he didn't want to buckle-up because then no one could see his banner. (Even though he was sitting in the passenger seat!) The girl told him, and these are her exact words:
Dude, no one is looking at you.... they're all looking at me.

Isn't that funny? She had it right, he was merely there to escort her. ha!
