the first man to have traveled in space,

Fifty years ago, on April 12, Former Soviet fighter pilot Yuri Gagarin became the first man to have traveled in space, in a 108-minute flight, that almost ended in a disaster.
The Soviet human spaceflight project, the Vostok Programme, was an ambitious effort to confirm Soviet leadership in space.
Although several launches had successfully carried animals into space, it wasn't known how a man would react to the weightlessness and isolation of a space flight.
Alexey Leonov, Yuri Gagarin's Friend has said, "It's like dressing a man in a suit and shoving him into a blast furnace, saying, 'fear not, the suit will protect you.' But nobody knows for sure if it will actually protect you or not."
Some believed weightlessness would turn men mad or squeeze their eyeballs into jelly. On April 12, 1961, Gagarin proved that pilots could normally operate spacecraft and communicate with mission control.
Vostok-1 Spacecraft Design Engineer Valeriy Lubinskiy said, "He didn't get to actually pilot the spacecraft, although he had all necessary controls to conduct a manual descent and landing, in case the automation would have been unusable".
Gagarin's flight made him famous all around the globe, opening the way for further manned missions, but it didn't change Gagarin's frank personality.
"I should say I even feel somewhat uncomfortable in front of my friends that my flight lasted only an hour and forty-eight minutes. But this, of course, was only the beginning, only the first scouting of space," Gagarin had said.
Gagarin died seven years later in a plane crash. He was only thirty-four years of age. He left behind a legacy of the pioneering spirit, discovery and friendship that has shaped human spaceflight ever since.

Gondolas of Venice, Italy

Gondolas of Venice, Italy.

The gondola is a traditional, flat-bottomed Venetian rowing boat, well suited to the conditions of the Venetian Lagoon. For centuries gondolas were once the chief means of transportation and most common watercraft within Venice. In modern times the iconic boats still have a role in public transport in the city, serving as traghetti (ferries) over the Grand Canal. They are also used in special regattas (rowing races) held amongst gondoliers. It is similar to punting, except it uses an oar to propel it instead of a pole. Their primary role, however, is to carry tourists on rides at established prices

Armillaria solidipes (Mushrooms)

Armillaria solidipes (formerly Armillaria ostoyae) is a species of fungus in the Physalacriaceae family.
its  is spread 2200 acres  in US

It is known to be one of the largest living organisms, where scientist have estimated a single specimen found in Malheur National Forest in Oregon to have been growing for some 2,400 years, covering 3.4 square miles. Armillaria solidipes grows and spreads primarily underground and the bulk of the organism lies in the ground, out of sight. Therefore, the organism is not visible to anyone viewing from the surface. It is only in the autumn when this organism will bloom “honey mushrooms”, visible evidence of the organism lying beneath. Low competition for land and nutrients have allowed this organism to grow so huge and become the largest living organism.

Ugadi Festival

Yugadi or Ugadi is the New Year's Day for the people of  south  India. It falls on the different day every year because the Hindu calendar is a lunisolar calendar. The Saka calendar begins with the month of Chaitra (March–April) and Ugadi marks the first day of the new year. Chaitra is the first month in Panchanga which is the Indian calendar.

The word Yugadi can be explained as; 'Yuga' is the word for 'epoch' or 'era', and 'aadi' stands for 'the beginning'
Yugadi specifically refers to the start of the age we are living in now, Kali Yuga. Kali Yuga started the moment when Lord Krishna left the world. Maharshi Vedavyasa describes this event with the words "Yesmin Krishno divamvyataha, Tasmat eeva pratipannam Kaliyugam". Kali Yuga began on Feb 17/18 midnight 3102 BC.

The eating of a specific mixture of six tastes (షడ్రుచులు), called Ugadi Pachhadi (ఉగాది పచ్చడి) in Telugu and Bevu-Bella( ಬೇವು-ಬೆಲ್ಲ) in Kannada, symbolizes the fact that life is a mixture of different experiences (sadness, happiness, anger, fear, disgust, surprise) , which should be accepted together and with equanimity through the New Year.
The special mixture consists of:
Neem Buds/Flowers for its bitterness, signifying Sadness
Jaggery and ripe banana pieces for sweetness, signifying Happiness
Green Chilli/Pepper for its hot taste, signifying Anger
Salt for saltiness, signifying Fear
Tamarind Juice for its sourness, signifying Disgust
Unripened Mango for its tang, signifying Surprise
