'Wiltime Bigtime' Big-time in Ratings on its Pilot Episode- Posts 37.5%

It seems like when Willie Revillame asked the TV Audience on Saturday-May 14, 2011 at the opening of the Pilot Episode of 'Wiltime Bigtime',  'Did You Missed Me?'-the ratings proved that Filipinos really missed him.

Controversial TV host Willie Revillame has reclaimed his title as leader of weekend primetime game show when his revamped TV5 early evening show "Wil Time Bigtime" posted a 37.5% audience share according to the data provided by Nielsen Media Research toppling competition within the same timeslot.

The 3-hour pilot episode of Wil Time Bigtime has posted an overwhelming audienceshare of 37.5% in MegaTAM; overtaking GMA-7's 26.0% and ABS-CBN's 19.5% audience shares, respectively.

Wil Time Bigtime's premiered last Saturday, May 14, with a very subdued Willie Revillame who expressed no disgust but only gratitude to his supporters and critics.

The host thanked his long time partners and supporters such as Sen. Manny Villar, Sen. Ernesto Maceda, Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile and family. He also thank celebrities like Garvy Valenciano and his wife Angeli, Jose Mari Chan, among others.

He also thanked TV5 President Atty. Ray Espinosa and Movie and Television Reviewand Classification Board (MTRCB) Chairperson Grace Poe-Llamanzares.

But Willie said it was the words and encouragement of TV5 chairman Manny V. Pangilinan that encouraged him. "Your pain is our pain, your success is our success. Mr. MVP ngayon ko lang po narinig sa isang boss yan. Sobrang nabuhayan ako," Willie said.

Wil Time Bigtime's Saturday pilot has earned raves after it finally unveiled its state-of-the-art full high-definition LED floor which according to Jay Montelibano, the program's Business Unit Head costs 34 million pesos - the first of its kind in the country.

Its modern set fully enhances the excitement in most of its game segments including "Red, White, Blue" where studio contestants can get the chance to play for the Jackpot round of "Baligtaran." "Family Apir" was retained with another new jackpot round called "Will I Stick." "Roll It", "Wil Time Bigtime" plus the Mega Jackpot round of "Step Yes, Step No". Cash prizes have also been increased compared to its previous format.

The public's resounding welcome for the return of Willie Revillame on primetime TV proves his unwavering popularity among the Filipino masses. As a matter of fact, the show already gained support from some advertisers like Cherry mobile, Ysa, Bench daily scents, Pau liniment, Technomarine, Foton, Camella, Datu Puti, Skelan, Strepsils and many more. Jay Montelibano remains confident that other advertiserswill reinstate their confidence for the show.

Willie and his co-host, Valenzuela councilor Shalani Soledad, are very thankful to all those who stood by the show and promise to give their 101% percent for the constant improvement of the people's program.

Wil Time Bigtime airs weeknights at 6:30 p.m. and on Saturdays at 5:00 p.m.

Vic Sotto host of 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire' New Season on TV-5

One of my favorite quiz show! The millionaire fever is back. Beginning on May 15, Sunday, the world’s most popular game show is taking the Philippines by storm once more. Hosted by Bossing of Game Shows, Mr. Vic Sotto, “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” kicks off its sixth season loaded with exciting additional lifelines, updated set technology and the chance for a lucky player to become 2 million pesos richer.

“As we enter our new season, we promise the viewers that we double the fun, excitement and tension in the sixth season of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” That’s our final answer,” said Vic Sotto. To date, the game show has already given away more than P13 million in total prizes in its five-season run.

For the initial episodes of the all-new season of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” smart kids could be a few questions away to become young millionaires as the tension-filled game show features honor students recommended by their schools to get this once-in-a-lifetime chance to win P2 million. On top of the jackpot that will be split to the kid player and his/her respective school, win or lose, “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” will award all the kid players college scholarships.

The overnight-millionaire dream is alive once again as Filipinos take their chance to defy the pressure from the hot seat for P2 million jackpot. To help the player along the way, the hot seat contestant can use lifelines available. Aside from pre-existing50-50 and Phone-A-Friend lifelines, the new season of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” introduces added lifelines that will make the game even more exciting:People Speak and Switch. Through People Speak, the studio audience who answers correctly will have the chance to win up to P20,000. The Switch lifeline, meanwhile, entitles the contestant to switch out the original question for another question of the same value.

The game show that pioneered the craze over game shows on Philippine TV returned in May 2009 via its new home TV5. For the last decade since its debut in the UK in 1998, “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” has dominated the ratings game around the globe with international versions spawning in over a hundred countries, including its top-rating Philippine version.

While the elimination of players in the past was through Fastest Finger First round done in the studio, hot seat hopefuls this time will be selected through mallauditions. To register in the mall editions, text MILLION (space) Name/Age/Gender/Address to 2256 (Example: MILLION Mark Sy/21/M/12 Leo St., Quezon City). Each text costs P2.50 for Smart and Globe subscribers, and P2.00 forSun Cellular subscribers.

TV5’s version of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” has recorded a first in local franchise history after Ms. Sharon Cuneta won the P2 million-peso jackpot for thebenefit of the children at Hospicio de San Jose last January 9, 2010. Some celebrities including Ms. Coney Reyes, Arnel Ignacio, Efren PeƱaflorida, Ms. Ruffa Gutierrez, Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero and Rep. Lucy Torres-Gomez have also played and won for their chosen charities.

Don’t miss the new season of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” starting on May 15, Sunday, 7:30pm after Magic Bagsik on TV5.

Summer’s almost over but youngsters can still make the most of their vacation with the start of “Bagets,” a TV spin of the ’80s iconic movie that launched the careers of Aga Muhlach, Raymond Launchengco, JC Bonnin, William Martinez and Herbert Bautista. Fast forward to 2011: the youth-oriented TV series presents the lives of a group of teens from different backgrounds in a campus setting.

Hold on to your seats as Criss walks on water, levitates above the Luxor Hotel and floats between two buildings. This and more in Magic Bagsik, this Sunday at 6:30 p.m.

"Wiltime Bigtime" replaced "Willing Willie' on TV-5 starts May 14, 2011

'Wiltime Bigtime' is Willie Revillame's brand new variety show in TV-5 replacing the controversial 'Willing Willie'

“Binigyan tayo ng pagkakataon at oportunidad ni Willie Revillame na unang i-announce dito sa ‘Juicy Express’ na magbabalik na po siya sa [Mayo] katorse… Sabado ‘yan,” declared Cristy.

Contrary to rumors that Willie’s new show will be transferred to the noontime slot competing against GMA-7's "Eat! Bulaga" and ABS-CBN's "Happy, Yipee, Yehey!", "Wiltime Bigtime" will have the same time slot as “Willing Willie” - Saturday at 5:30 p.m. and weeknights at 6:30 p.m.

Like what the title implies, the new show is expected to deliver big time surprises and prizes "dahil big time po kayo sa puso ni Willie Revillame."

TV5 Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan announced earlier that TV5 management already considered May 14 as the comeback date for Willie's show.

TV5 decided to temporarily suspend airing of "Willing Willie" starting April 11 in relation to the Jan-Jan Suan incident (incidentally, the segment where Jan-Jan controversy begins was also titled "Wiltime Bigtime").

After its investigation, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board(MTRCB) also decided to suspend the show for one month and put the same under probation. Meaning when it goes on-air, the show is required to secure a permit for each episode. It is also reported that the same rule will apply to any show that will replace "Willing Willie". In this case, "Wiltime Bigtime" should seek a daily permit beginning its pilot airing on May 14.
