So when was the last time that you heard of a person killing an animal for food. :eek: We are not just politically correct but so out of touch with reality. Its an exercise in will power to actually take an animals life with your own hands.

Disregarding the poster you were responding to, humans are animals and are the result of natural selection just as much as any other species on the planet. Funny how the intro of a red iPod has led to me posting this.
I think the pict. of the iPod is awesome and I think they will sell well on color alone.

We were discussing this a few threads down the front page.
Doubt the MacPro will be dead, but the market for it will shrivel up very badly unless some universal need for extreme processing is manufactured. With current processing speeds and ThunderBolt accessories, an iMac can become a full pro machine for all sorts of jobs that don't need to work titanic piles of data.
This Pro I purchased in early 2007 is still excellent. It will last until 2014 or beyond, and by that point I will probably go with an iMac. Today's iMacs are already faster than this tower in most ways.

You can still use Safari and look this info up on a website. Checkpoints should be illegal anyway. They pretty much are anyway but they have their loophole which makes it ok. It's a moneymaker for the county or city. I went through a checkpoint a while back just south of Charlotte in SC. The driver was being arrested for DUI and one of the passengers for having a pain pill without a Rx. The cops asked me how much cash I had on me to make this trouble disappear for my friends. After I told them that I don't carry cash, they point me to the ATM that was conveniently located steps away from the checkpoint. I told them to go eff themselves. Then they treated me like a POS and made me walk home on a dark street at 3 am. I didn't really mind. It gave me an opportunity to burn the beer calories like I normally would the next day. I didn't have my phone. Corruption is everywhere, people. I dislike most people that where the badge. Yeah, I'm prejudice in the same way that they are prejudice towards most citizens.

it seems like the reason this apple is broadcasting to the event is so that they can show how their new ichat streaming dot mac movie/video chat ipod pack works;) .
I like that line of thought :) Prolly spot on too. SJ will announce about half way throught that they've actually been streaming over an Airport Express AV the entire time...

Im really stoked to see the Ivy Bridge benchmarks...the i72600k blew my mind:eek: I feel bad for the enthusiast folks who bought a 980x :(
Enthusiasts had the 980 for atleast 6 months now and it's still faster than any sb cpu. Alot of those guys already had x58 mobo's anyway. Now if you purchased a brand new 12 core Mac Pro then then I agree with you.

I have hoped Apple would get into the living room with a PVR, but I wouldn't mind a device that I could use to show purchased movies either. But like others have mentioned, it doesn't seem to make sense when you think about bandwidth versus video quality.
It's hard to imagine anything better than 480p using a wireless method. Adding a gigabit pipe might do the trick but most folks' houses are wired to make that happen. I'm sorry but I just don't see how this is going to work if based on the same conceptual design as itunes + airport express.

Does anyone else think something more might be coming? With the price drop of both models and the lack of drastic changes ie the rumored full screen, bluetooth, and virtual click wheel?

My guess will be after bigger 1.8 inch HDs are released.

I believe this media player will simply be a better iPod with better integration to your television, via possibly a nice dock. It makes sense, it's keeps the iPod in the forefront which would enable the market to grow because most will buy it for the music, but seeing it can attach to the t.v... :)

Sorry to crash the party, but it would seem a little strange for Apple to upgrade the MacBook and/or MB Pro's until sometime after the 16th when their current college promotion ends.
well, in the past they have run this promotion and released new product without adding it to the rebate. so... i guess it would not be strange, no.

ok. how many times do i have to say this. BAD FOR CONSUMERS. the average joe is locked to whatever phone the carrier offers, or whatever carriers offer the phone. you dont go looking for a car saying "i hope they have this for Shell (ie: petrol -its NOT gas. it is a liquid - company)!", do you?

Maybe we miss understand each other here, but Im talking about mortality rates of woman and children WITH HIV. Not mortality rates of all women and children. Those are two totally different things...
Oh, okay... misunderstood your first point. But, in that respect, it's worth noting that the corolation you're making could be made for any number of diseases - heart disease, liver failure, certain cancerns, etc. Female mortality rates are generally higher for many diseases. I'm not sure what the scientific reasoning is for this... perhaps someone here has a medical background more developed than mine who would know the answer to that. I would guess it's the same reasoning as for children, in that women are generally smaller and thus likely have less physical cell mass, and thus less innate ability to fight disease?
Either way, your original point is well-taken... but the overall numbers are still heavily skewed towards more men than women being afflicted. Not sure what that means, and at this point we can talk in circles about who is right and who is wrong, but it doesn't amount to much.
It's a terrible tragedy that the disease exists in the first place, let alone spreads, and if donating a percentage of the proceeds from a successful business helps that cause in some way I'm all for it - whether there are alterior motives or not is immaterial. It's a good thing.
