RedSox lineup

Oh so many years ago, when Peter & I were dating, I knew that his all-time favorite Boston team was the BostonBruins. Mind you, he loves 'em all, but he loves loves loves those Bruins. (I'll spare you the story of my wedding dress.  Oh, maybe another time.)

I knew NOTHING about sports, yet alone the NHL, but I figured that if I wanted to wow this guy that I'd learn the teams' cities and team names.  I was working at Disney at the time and I made flash cards so my cube mate could drill me.  Name of city on one side, flip it over and there was the corresponding NHL team.

Well .... 20+ years later I figure it's time for me to learn (each season) the RedSox players and their positions.
And since the flash cards worked so well many years ago, I thought I'd resort to my old ways.  Starting with a white sheet.
Tonight at dinner (with a little help) I wrote down the players that I knew.  The players that have a hyphen before their name are ones that I needed to be reminded of.

I haven't learned the catcher's name yet, and starting shortstop is to be determined.

My very favorite current RedSox player is Clay Buccholz.  What a cutie.
I love how his hair flips out from under his cap.

But I digress.  I looked over my list, and wondered where Papi (David Ortiz) was and Jonathan Pabelbon (omg, talk about a cutie!) were.

So I asked .... "I know there are 9 players on the field. But how many guys are there on the team?"
Peter:: 25
Me:  25?????  You mean I've got to learn 25 players?

I've got my work cut out for me.  Soon the spring training games are over.
Roster will be decided.
And I'll have my work cut out for me.
