Now that Christmas is over I look forward to working on some New Year projects from last year hehe! Did you notice I didn't mention any particular project here? I don't like promising something that I can't keep (even to myself). So you just have to wait and see what I'm up to. I did work on something during the holidays. I took the BORO cloth with me to work on. It was a lot of fun stitching on the different squares. I will show it to you when I have a chance to take good photos of it. I took a lot of photos of the sea and nature while we were away as well. Will show them to you soon too. I have been back to work and had our first Wednesday craft session already. I got back to work on my Japanese thimbles again and I completed 3 in the last couple of days.
When I first started making them I got a few bases made so now I only need to work on the stitching. The library where I work has bought the book on Japanese thimbles after I started with the kit. The book is all in Japanese, but lucky for me one of my students is Japanese, so she translated them for me. The above pattern is called Blue Ocean Waves. I love them so much I made one in red/white, blue/yellow and blue/white combinations. The drawback of these thimbles is that I cannot make them for gifts because I need to know the finger measurement of friends to make them fit.
My Crochet scarf that my friend Jacky introduced to me. It is made from sock yarn. It was fun and fast to make. I have started a second one in solid colour too. It's just the right scarf for summer.
Here are my Christmas presents from Mr Notjustnat. It was a bit of a let down from last Christmas LOL! But I'm so thrilled with them. My new camera is a Sony NEX-5 with 18-55mm Zoom Lens. I have also got the new Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 software. I love my APE. I know that there are free editing tools on the web, but I have been using APE for years and feel quite comfortable with it. I prefer not to have to relearn a new editing suite all over again. I'm happy with the result of my photos so far. I'm looking forward to using my new camera to take better photos for my blog this year. Hope you all received some great Christmas gifts too.
