How do I know this? Because when I took Maguire out, and Paris was the only car down in the parking lot, and the vehicle had water droplets on it from the middle of the roof and then to rear (I back it in), and I'm wondering "what the hell is that?" ...
We rode up in the elevator, and there's water on the elevator floor ...
The doors opened on 4 and there's wetness on the outside hallway ...
Ah, I figured it out.
After I got Maguire settled in the condo, I went down to wipe off the vehicle, but it required more than just a little wiping down. I spray detailed it because of the spotting that remained.
It looks like crap.
My first task was to send an email to the management association representative, with a cc to her boss and a cc to the association president, who is a resident. Here's my trail of emails, in chrono order:
Nancy, I noticed the 4th floor of Art Center Lofts was pressure washed this afternoon.
I would have appreciated a notice being posted, so that cars could be removed from their respective parking spaces. Mine was the only one out there this afternoon. I have just come up from 15 minutes of attempting to wipe my car off from the chemical solution that has left deep water spots.
I'll need to have my car professionally hand washed tomorrow. Who do I send the bill to for reimbursement?
And, in the future, please post notices so something like this does not happen again.
Her response:
Hello Marlene,Thank you for your email. I have notified the vendor, XYZ Cleaning, of your concern and they are available to speak with you further. You may contact Karen, the owner of XYZ Cleaning at 000-000-0000 or by email at XYZ@yahoo.com.kindly,Nancy
Karen's response:
I have just spoken to Nancy regarding your car getting water spots on it. We are so very sorry . Rest assured no chemicals were used to wash floor, only water. I think it would be a lesson learned for my employee to hand wash your car. I'm sure he will think about this the next time.(Note: IS SHE KIDDING ME?????)
We are very sorry for the inconvenience. Give me a call and I will set up a time for him to wash when it is convenient for you. Karen. 000-000-0000
My reply:
Karen, do you really think that:Her reply:
(1) if an employee was careless enough to not be concerned with overspray onto a vehicle, that the vehicle owner would allow that person to hand wash said car?
(2) the issue is really with the condominium management company for not posting a notice that the spraying would be done so the car wouldn't even be there in the first place.
(3) and there was indeed some kind of residue on those water spots, it was not just water.
So, again, who would I send the car wash bill to for reimbursement? I do not want my car washed by an amateur, I want it professionally washed. At the place where I routinely take it.
Thank you.
Marlene
Who will be washing your car, and what is the expected cost? Thank you , KarenMe:
AutoSpa on Kennedy Ave. It's the only place in town that I have my car done.
Approx cost will be $30.
Karen:
Thank you. Again so sorry for the inconvenience. Can you email the invoice upon completion and I will send you a check. Karen
Hmmph. Total bullshit. It doesn't matter if there was only 1 car or 600,000 cars. The fact remains that the management company should have posted a notice so there wouldn't be any cars parked near the area of pressure washing.
But at least now the matter is resolved.
