Halloween costume(s)

We've been encouraged to wear 2 days of costumes for upcoming Halloween.  Oh gee, swell.  Just what I want to do.  Not.

My first thought was to go get a Cruella DeVille wig and outfit, but then I was stumped for the 2nd day.

I've always had a particular Halloween costume in mind, but never had the chutzpah to wear it.  Picture this:  steering wheel around my neck, seaweed dripping from my hair, black cocktail dress and pearl necklace.  Did you guess yet?  MaryJo Koepchne.

But I digress.  Forget the Cruella DeVilla thing, I didn't feel like dealing with the costume stores.  So here are my 2 ideas.

First day:  a road construction worker.  Wearing Peter's hard hat, one of my white blouses, Peter's safety vest, my jeans, and a pair of my ankle boots.  I know it's a bit of a reach, and it's pretty basic, but at least I'm trying.

Second day:  hold onto your seats.  I'm pretty proud of this one.  A sports fan!  Ha!  I'll wear my very most favorite Boston RedSox cap of Peter's (I searched high and low for it online a year or so ago, OMG, it's so cool), one of my authentic hockey jerseys (haven't decided if I'll wear Boston Bruins or TampaBay Lightning), I bought a pair of TampaBay Bucs jammie pants, and a New England Patriots pin to wear on the collar of a black turtleneck underneath the hockey jersey.

A few side notes:  I wanted to go dressed as a Boston sports fan, but couldn't find any Celtics or Patriots bottoms.  One store only had Celtics basketball shorts, mens size Large, and they were swimming on me.  The only Patriots item they had is pictured at bottom of this posting.  I asked "in this entire store, this is the only Patriots thing you have?"  His reply was "Yep, and that's the only one left.  The girls have been buying all the Patriots stuff, they love Tom Brady."

Oh, I have to tell you about my Bucs pants purchase.  This was obviously way low on my wish list.  I mean, really, the Bucs????  And they weren't even on sale.  I told the cashier that as pitiful as the Bucs were playing that these should be marked half price.  Ha!  You probably heard Peter guffaw when I pulled them out of the bag to show him.  His comment:  "I can't believe you bought Bucs stuff.  Pitiful."

Anyway .... here's my New England Patriots pin.
