I gave up on that book

It was too weird.  I had read almost 200 pages of it, then read the last chapter, and returned it to the library last night.

Date night last night was good.  Blue moons, split an avocado cheeseburger and some kind of salad.  A storm was approaching as we exited the restaurant, but I suggested we go to Baskin-Robbins and split a hot fudge sundae.  Peter couldn't resist that.  We were the only patrons in there and we sat at a corner table and conversed.

When I got home, I started another of my library books.  It didn't look like it would be a difficult read, but I got as far as page 7 and realized I didn't know the meaning of several of the words:
  • diminuendo
  • interlocutor
  • adjunct
  • turpitude
  • flummoxed
  • ruminant
  • anarchic
I know someone who has an excellent vocabulary, and would know the meaning of all those words.  But I just breeze over them and continue reading.
