Clothes steamer from my Mom

Wow, what an invention.

This steamer is not like those portable ones advertised by Joy M. on HSN.  This one's the real deal.  Mom says it must be 50 years old.  I think I remember it from either when she worked at Schneider's Bridals, or would do blocking & finishing of hand-knit items.  But I have seen this before in my life.

I thought it would be complicated to work, but not at all.  Fill the gallon jug, turn it upside down in the water well, plug it in, flip the "on" switch, and voila.  Within 30 seconds (max), voila!  Steam.

Yesterday I steamed my uniforms, as we were advised by wardrobe not to take an iron to the fabric as it will then sheen.  While they launder beautifully, and come out of the dryer near perfect, it's always nice to have all the wrinkles removed.

This steamer does the trick.  Granted, I'm not comfortable with it yet.  But I did practice yesterday on 5 of Peter's polo shirts.  You should have seen his face when he came home.  ha!

So today I steamed about 12 more of his polos.  And a pair of his work jeans.  And 2 pairs of his cargo shorts.  Very busy.

Steamer girl.
