I was in the frozen vegetables section at Publix. A little girl, oh, say 8-12 years old (and quite pudgy) was there with her mom. Here's the conversation:
Daughter: Mom, I want the brocolli and cheese vegetables.
Mom: Here's some.
Daughter: No, that doesn't have the WeightWatchers points listed.
Mom: How about this bag?
Daughter: No, I want Green Giant. Individual servings. And it's zero points.
Mom: Well, these are brocolli & cheese, just get these.
Daughter: No, mom, it doesn't say WeightWatchers on it.
Mom: Come on, hurry up, we've got other things to do today.
Daughter: Oh, that's OK. I'll just do without.
Lady, first of all, why aren't you in those meetings with your daughter, so you can hear what's going on.
Secondly, why aren't you supporting her? It's not as though she's asking for candy or toys.
And thirdly, I don't care if you have to stop at three or four or however many grocery stores to get that product for her, GET IT.
My heart went out to that little girl. Seems like she's fighting the battle all by herself.
