Indian Shores, FL

Next week Peter and I are leading the breakfast run for TampaBayVettes (there'll be pictures, you can be sure).  We chose the Pub Waterfront Restaurant, as we have been there before and knew they had a nice buffet for a group.

I spoke with the manger and got her name and phone #, so I'll call her next Sunday at 9am with a total # of participants, right before we leave our start point.

After having brunch, and not being real pleased with the route that the navigation system directed us, we decided to take another way home.  And went past Salt Rock Grill.

We continued past it, commenting that it's one place we always talked about going, but after 4+ years we've never made it.  You know how that goes.

Anyway ... we made it back to I275 North and decided on the newer route, turned around so I could write down all the information for the handout sheet, and decided to stop at Salt Rock Grill for a cold beer.

We chose the outside bar, and as we approached it I noticed that we'd be the first ones there.  Again, I was able to use my line "See, I reserved it just for us."  ha!  Very cool bar chairs, kinda like the ones on a big-ass fishing boat.  (Not that I'm into fishing).

Rambling.

We were sitting, b.s.'n with the bartender and I noticed that only one of the plasma TVs were on.  And that was broadcasting whatever current golf tournament is going on.  Yawn.  I asked if the other TV could receive ESPN.  And the bartender said, "yes".  And nothing more was said or done.

About halfway into an appetizer (delicious mediterranean shrimp dip) and 2nd beer, I took off my sunglasses and noticed that the TV was already on.  I asked Peter "when did that happen?"  The reply was that it had been on the whole time.

Not too embarrassing, here I am asking the bartender to turn on a TV that's already on.  So I was laughing, and explained that the TV looked totally blacked out to me.  And the guy said that he knew my sunglasses were polarized and blocking out the screen.

Isn't that weird?  I thought polarized lenses were supposed to help one see better.  Oh well.
