4:30pm
I'm getting my neighbor's mail for him while he's gone on indefinite assignment.
Today Maguire and I went to the mailboxes and saw the U.S. Mail truck still at the boxes. I mentioned to the guy that I'd come back later and he said "oh, that's OK, I'm just finishing up, which slot do you need?"
I replied that I needed 2 boxes worth, one for my neighbor, and I even had his mailbox key with me.
I, of course, immediately thought that since it's federal property that the dutiful government employee would lock the boxes and have me use my keys to open. I mean, isn't it a federal crime to tamper with someone else's mail? And how did he indeed know that I had a key to another resident's mailbox?
I'm telling you ... another Florida moment.
