9:30am
We went to that cool restaurant that we discovered last weekend. In Clearwater. We got there around 5pm, sat at the outside bar for a cold beer, started b.s.'n with guy next to us, next thing we realize that it's 5:40 and we hadn't ordered yet. And there was no pre-Kentucky Derby program on the TV.
I asked for the TV to be changed, and soon both outside TVs had on the programming. And all TVs inside the restaurant, too.
And next the bartender came around with an envelope and a container with numbered pieces of paper in it. $10 per number. I bought 1 for me, and drew my number. Feeling generous, I bought another number for Peter, too. What a wife, huh?
We ate our meal before the race, but hung around till race time. Yay, my horse came in 2nd. IceBox. I was hoping I'd get Super Saver, the horse I knew would win from when I first saw the listing. But, heh, 2nd isn't bad.
1st place winner got $150, I got $50. Cool, huh?
Of course, if I would have won, then I wouldn't have been happy that I didn't get all $200. But now I'm happy that they did pay second place.
