Featherweight Challenge Second Installment

Wow, is it a month since I posted the last Featherweight Challenge? Ria and I are supposed to post a new installment on the 3rd of each month. I know Ria posted hers yesterday. Ria set her rail fence into steps pattern. It's beautiful. You must go over and have a look at her version. I'm a day late because I didn't have time to work on it. A lot has happened in a month. We had two visitors, a Valentine's day and Chinese New Year celebrations. Not to mention a few projects I started since then!
Here are my rail fence blocks I have pieced so far. I think I will need 144 blocks to make a wall quilt. I do want to hand quilt it and I don't think it is too big to do that.
A view from the top. Can you see the woven effect? Double click on the image to enlarge it so that you can see it better. I was looking at it and have to thank Kathie for helping me with the light and dark placement in order to get the woven effect.
The sea of blocks. I love photography and always take a lot of photos in as many different angles as possible. It's a lot of fun playing with the image in Photoshop Elements afterward.
This is the foursies unit using some of Ria's fabrics. This quilt will be an international friendship quilt. Terry from Terry's New Thread had joined this challenge as well. I'm not sure how far she has got with hers.
Here's what I received from Ria. Notice the cute Dutch girl and boy fabric? I will use it for the border of a mini quilt I have in mind. How cute would that be.

We are going to visit DD in Sydney this weekend. Will take some photos to share when we get back. I'm counting down until our holiday to New Zealand and Japan in 2 weeks time. I have some Japanese projects to show you in the next couple of posts. So watch this space...!
