Culture Shock

4:00am
From lunch in Miami Beach at Sushi Samba and fartin' around on Lincoln Avenue for a few hours .... to dinner in Port Charlotte. Yee haw!

I mean, there's Miami Beach in all its total hipness, and beautiful people, and nothing but the latest fashions. And then Port Charlotte that reminded me so much of Kissimmee.

We had dinner at Wood Fire Grill (or something like that). From the outside I thought it was going to be like my fav restaurant in Bowling Green last September. Where we went 3 times in 3 days. But I regress. Wood Fire Grill had as much ambience as a bingo hall, the youngest bartender wasn't even cute. And there was a lady sitting across from us at the bar who made Tammy Wynette's worst day look good. Know what I'm saying?

Anyway, getting back to Miami Beach .... here's a link to the restaurant. I sat at the 2nd barstool from the left. The only reason we ate inside was because it was too windy.

The barstools aren't that color anymore, they've been changed out with white ones. And more square than round.

Oh ... next to SushiSamba is a store called Sandals. I walked down there to see what they had, thinking, of course, that one could never have too many flip flops. Darling ones in the window, with 6 jeweled starfish across the straps. Big "sale" sign in the window. And I was getting good vibes. Went in, asked the saleslady how much. She repied "two ninety eight".

Do you believe that?!?!?? For flip-flops? They were very Miami Beach-ish, though.
