Happy New Year

Happy New Year to all my readers and friends. 2009 has been a really busy year for me. I started blogging just over a year ago and it has been enjoyable and creative. I have learned heaps in all areas that I wouldn't have without blogging. Blogging has brought me back to quilting which I had neglected in the last few years. I didn't stop quilting all together, but by taking up other passions I didn't put all my time into quilting! Blogging also connected me to many wonderful bloggers out there in the virtual world.

I lit these sparklers as it turned New Year out on our deck. I didn't think that the pictures would come out, but they did quite nicely.

My New Year plans begun last year when we booked our trip in March and April. I didn't go anywhere in 2009 because I took 6 weeks off in October 2008 to visit Thailand, India, Turkey, Egypt and Switzerland. I had a blast of a time with my friend Myra (no blog). My travel plan for this year is to visit New Zealand for DH's brother's wedding and see the rest of his family too. New Zealand is where DH originally from and where both of our children were born. I lived there for 18 months and returned to have DS there as well. I feel at home in New Zealand and I think it is a very beautiful country. After New Zealand we are going to Japan. It will be my first visit to Japan. I love Japan and everything about the old traditions and culture of the place. I know I will enjoy our visit there. DF Lesley lives there and that is a bonus to know someone there to give us some insight into the country.

I hope I can manage to post something during our trip. It will be really cool to be able to share my experience with everyone while I'm traveling.
