Disney Marathon weekend: Half-marathoners brave sleet, flurries this morning
Disney Half-Marathon participants braved historic weather this morning at the Walt Disney World.
Runners endured 13.2 miles of sleet, flurries and light rain in 34-degree weather. The Orlando area has not seen sleet since 2006.
The Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, which includes a half marathon, full marathon and 5K races, attracts up to 100,000 participants and spectators from all over the world each January.
Tomorrow’s marquee event — the Disney Marathon — is expected to see 24,000 runners this year.
Check back here later for pictures and results from today’s Disney Half Marathon.
