Shhh .... don't tell Peter

Oh, several weeks ago I had a bright idea to hang a picture in the kitchen. But I didn't take into consideration that the handle of the refrigerator, when opening the right door, would "tap" the picture and cause the picture to fall (and scrape the wall in the process). Oops.
So we've been living with this mar on the wall. Peter suggested that we just touch it up, but there's only 100,000 shades of white paint on the market. So we've done nothing. I've thought about getting a huge poster, but I'd just have the same problem.

The issue is that it's not just a small area between kitchen counter & refrigerator. This wall extends to under the stairs, so it all has to be done.

Next problem.

There's smoke on the wall from candle in bathroom. I read online that a Mr. Clean Eraser would remove it. Well .... that didn't exactly work out, did it?
It made a bigger mark. Again, oops.

Yesterday I talked to 2 hispanic painters that were painting one of the units here. Spoke very broken English (about as good as my spanish) but we were able to communicate $200 + paint. Hell, it would be worth that to me and I said yes. Their boss was supposed to come with paint chips yesterday to make color selection. He never showed. Great. Not.

I just took out Maguire and saw another painting company downstairs. White guy, spoke English. What a concept. I asked him to come up & give me an estimate to paint 2 walls.

He met me at the condo. $125 including paint. Yay! He'll be back later this afternoon (so he says) with paint chips and we're working on scheduling. I asked for Thursday this week, to be done by the time Peter comes home Thurs night. The guy didn't think he could do it then. How 'bout next week?

Nope, I'm going down to Miami on Monday morning. hmmph.

Maybe maybe he can do it this Thursday. Keep your fingers crossed.
