5:50am
You know .... the thing about Peter working a 4-day week .... is that when he comes on Thursdays .... I think that it's Friday night. But it's not. We have a whole extra day to fart around. How cool is that?!??
I had a nice dinner waiting for him when he came home last night. Yep, I prepared a meal for him so he had smells when he walked through the door. It was cajun night in the Varnum household. Red beans and rice with cajun sausage. Chopped onions & sour cream, all topped with McIrnerney's tabasco. Surprisingly, it was not nearly as spicey as I had imagined, or hoped. Side salad. I must admit it was all pretty good. And, of course, he loved walking through the door smelling a home cooked meal. (hope he doesn't expect it every Thursday. ha!)
Today is opening day of the Tampa Downtown Farmers Market season. Can you believe they're not open during the summer? What's up with that? Anyway .... we'll walk down there around 10am, stroll through it, stop at the bank and walk home.
Tonight I'll be participating on one of the homecomings. It's the inner-city school and the school that's the hardest to get members to participate in. The school has requested only 6 cars, it's not one of those rambling suburbia schools. Peter hasn't decided if he's going along or not. My $ says he'll stay home and watch the Yankees game, hoping for a loss.
After the homecoming all of us from the club will go out to dinner as a group. Tonight it's Cody's Roadhouse. This particular one used to be Remington's Steakhouse but 2 years ago changed over to Cody's. Rambling.
Tomorrow morning is the Breast Cancer Walk. 3.5 miles along Bayshore Boulevard. The car club is meeting at Ferman and caravanning over to the St. Pete Times Forum. However, since Peter and I live so close we'll just walk down to the Forum and meet them there. Heh, maybe we'll take that River Taxi!
Then, after the walk, the entire group is planning to have lunch at Hooters in Channelside.
A cold front is supposed to move in tonight and bring some rain with it tonight & tomorrow morning, so we'll see how the homecoming & walk work out. Keep your fingers crossed. Especially for tonight's homecoming.
Well, that's my brief recap of the next 2 days. It's almost 6am here so I'll take Maguire out, then come up and start brewing some coffee.
