Another HS homecoming request

At last night's Vette Club meeting was a very pretty young girl and her Dad. I saw them walk in, and then I didn't see them. And after a few minutes the Club President, Tommy, asked me to step into his office. And there was the girl.

She's a senior at Plant City High School and the car club that they had all lined up to do their halftime homecoming ceremony cancelled on them. And their homecoming is Friday night (October 16th).

Oh no ... I wanted to stab myself with a dull knife.

We already have one big school (15 vehicles) and one inner-city school that added 1 car to their original request (6 cars), and now this one (8 cars). All on the same night. Yikes.

We asked the girl & her dad to stay for beginning of meeting so that the members could see her. OMG, she was a darling girl. And the ma'ams just oozed from her mouth.

Bottom line is that we filled the positions (you should have seen Tommy work his magic that he does so well). Now today I've got to touch base with the teacher, send their invoice, get their Activity Form signed by someone in the club, blah blah blah. And I thought I had these homecomings paperwork wrapped up. Not complaining.
