In the mean time I made up this XOXO block to send to Tonya for her book, but I was told that she is now has more than enough blocks to complete her book. You know me with the waste not and want not attitute. Instead I am making a positive quilt for myself and this is the first block for that quilt. Since I decided to make the positive quilt I have come up with more than fifty positive words to use in my quilt. I can not wait to start spelling out all those fifty words...!
A peek at my Green Quilt in progress. Let me tell you a bit about my Green Quilt. I used to live in Bathurst, NSW and there I met my friend Geo. When I was about to move to Melbourne Geo and I decided to start a project together using used clothing. The rule of the project was that we could buy two 'F' (feature) fabrics and all the other clothing fabrics we got we would divide in half. I have been piecing the blocks for the last few years and just now I feel that I have to finish it because it means a lot for my friendship with Geo. I am so happy with how it turned out now that all the blocks are together. We have thrown everything we have together without colour and design differences.
The words Rags to Riches are on each of the four borders. Each border has different fabrics for the letters, but the background fabric is the same. What you see in the picture is only a quarter of the quilt. I think it is going to be a queen quilt when it is finished.
