Personally, I think we need to increase taxes across the board.
Which is exactly what I said. But you couldn't help twisting the dagger a little bit by saying ...
Democrats - "I am in favor of increasing government taxation, and I have the opportunity to put my money where my mouth is by voluntarily paying more taxes, but I am nonetheless not going to if other people don't."
So are you, on your own, going to voluntarily give money to the government? Or do we get to lump you in with your description of Democrats?

I like to come here every once in a while, checkout the logic behind some of the comments. More interest in the psychological aspect of the comments.
You might be interesting reading this (http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/intersection/2011/04/25/is-reasoning-built-for-winning-arguments-rather-than-finding-truth/). MR makes so much more sense after having read it.

I'm guessing DVDs or USB keys will be around for awhile for the big things like a major OS upgrade, Office, Creative Suite.

Merom:
Twice the Battery life.
You have said this before and it is TOTALLY WRONG if you are comparing the Merom to Yonah (http://www.anandtech.com/showdoc.aspx?i=2711&p=4). The first slide is directly from Intel's Spring Developer Conference. Consistent battery does not mean 2X.

Nobody uses / when writing down by hand (they do when programming on a computer- fine), or at least they shouldn't.
This wasn't written by hand, it was typed out on a computer. You can save any other arguments you have on the subject, because they don't apply here based on your flawed premise.

There's a few mis-stated rules in Don't panic's rules that I will address shortly.
But one is that a trap activates as soon as you attempt to leave the room. The only way to avoid a trap is to explore the room, which will discover, and disarm, the trap.
With that said, there are currently nothing placed on the map by the villain. He will make his first move after you slow-pokes are done ;)
I'm confused. Are you saying that the villain gets to listen to our conversations and then place the traps? Can he place a trap in the room we're in right now? If so, should this planning be done via PM?

TechCrunch likely doesn't know jack about dates or new features in iOS 5. Just saying.
They have a terrible track record. I think the fact that they're still going with the iPad 3 release this fall completely invalidates anything they're saying.

Haven't we heard before from this "tech-unsavvy friend, who is regularly hired by Apple to do marketing photo shoots", maybe sometime in the past year or two? The line sounds familiar. I don't recall if the previous bit of information from that source was true or not.
Yeah, he took pictures of the new iMac G5 in an elevator...;)

Unfortunately, only 25% of the US market agrees with you. ;)
Who cares? After all it's just personal choice. Whether you use iPhone or Android, it's your choice and nobody else but yours.

This is easy to see
MobilMe Becomes Free
MobilMe gets laden with 1Ads
All part of the Apple strategy
I would be happy to keep paying $99/year for adfree Mobilme
I agree with that.

You guys got me there, don't really have an answer for that one. I wasn't aware that other countries looked down on products manufactured here, that's a shame.
:(
Well hopefully the companies that manufacture products here step their game up in the near future!
Yeah sorry, the two previous and my opinion were a bit harsh and all back to backs!

I have to agree with some previous posters on here; its not going to be the featureset, but the implementation.
I have a Samsung Smartphone, and WinMobile isnt terrible, but its far from smooth or an enjoyable use. That being said, when you have "real" internet (aka not something that is just for phone use) and "real" Instant Messaging, you begin to actually use these things. The T-Mobile Sidekick, although a bit geared to the younger crowd, its a very good device in terms of its functionality and user interface.
I basically see the iPhone as a better designed, better user interfaced, and EXTREMELY easy to charge and Sync with a computer. Just like an iPod. All these phones lack in the sync department, Apple could dominate this (which, apart from the user interface, is the thing that sets the ipod apart. Plug it ina and it just works, no fuss)
Expect to see it sold through Apple unlocked, around 400-450 dollars. People used to pay that for an iPod, they will do so for a phone. Especially when there are VERY expensive ringtones, songs, etc. Apple will be the more economical choice in light of the expensive "services" the providers offer.
The industry will change. MS will release the "Pune" in 3 years to kill iPhone. In brown.

I used to think you didn't REALLY need it if you didn't do anything stupid, but then I had it catch something in a banner ad a couple of times, so...now I think it's just better to be safe than sorry.
I think those two attacks are the only times I've been attacked, although I've heard of more recent things like that too.

Loras turned as they walked into a room and found a lit torch in a sconce on the wall. He went to reach for it, Wilmer dove into him and they fell, rolling and cursing on the hard stone floor.
"No, you idiot, it could be a trap!" Wilmer's face was sincere.
"Get off me you damned oaf," Loras grunted as he forced Wilmer off. "You really think that if there's going to be a trap, it's going to be a torch?" He stood up, brushed himself off and grabbed the torch. Wilmer flinched.
When nothing happened, Loras widened his eyes and made a dismissive gesture toward Wilmer, who stood his ground and eyed the torch uneasily. The rest of the group followed his lead with the torch and they explored the room.
They searched through a dead-end hallway and found plenty of dust and dilapidated furniture, but there was no treasure.
Dante poked Loras. "Alright, now what smart guy?"
The heroes have one more action this round.

I was at a local apple store and they are selling the tom tom car kit already. What a rip off, because you have to pay for the app seperate. I got the griffin car mount for $20 at frys and the navigon app, works great.

Can Adium do videchat to MSN? (with audio! There's no audio on the videochat's in aMSN:mad: :p )
You can't do video or audio chat with Adium, and won't be able to for a year or two at least. :(
I'm just hoping for some official support sooner or later with iChat or the official standalone clients. :)

I don't think it is a bad idea for Apple to put Merom in the MacBooks for this reason...
Apple is being more directly compared to Dell and such these days since they are running Intel chips. And the PC makers are going to put those processors in their computers as soon as they can. If Apple doesn't want to look like they are behind in the times, they have to put these processors in also.
It makes for a little smaller of a gap between the consumer and pro (remember there is still the video card holding steady) but I think overall it will be better because we will get the updates sooner rather than later...
In all reality however, I don't actually know.
Carry on...

Yo! check out this key clause to Amazon's Terms Of Use >
5.2.Our Right to Access Your Files.
You give us the right to access, retain, use and disclose your account information and Your Files: to provide you with technical support and address technical issues; to investigate compliance with the terms of this Agreement, enforce the terms of this Agreement and protect the Service and its users from fraud or security threats; or as we determine is necessary to provide the Service or comply with applicable law.
WTF ???!!!
Thank you for digging that out. Obviously no one should ever use this. Uploading your stuff to their servers = unlimited access by them to your stuff.
Great. No thanks, Amazon. Not that I trust Apple more than you (I don't), but you make it clear that you likely will access people's documents, files, photos, audio.
You'll get the dumb squad to sign up for your crap. They always come out whenever there is something bad to sign up for.

Windows 8 being available on ARM platforms would make this move, albeit a bold one, pretty viable.
