yeah your right. Apple should alter their release schedules based on how mad their customers get when a new device is released. Especially since the device this customer bought still works exactly like they expected it to when they purchased it.

While I'm not saying there will or won't be hardware at WWDC, The Loop's interpretation of the invitation is just plain incorrect. If they have other sources that indicate no hardware, fair enough, but the invitation to WWDC 2011 is not enough to base this rumor on.
Let's look at past WWDC invitations and events:
WWDC2010 : "The center of the app universe" - iPhone 4
WWDC2009 : "Make your mark here" - MacBook Pros, iPhone 3GS
WWDC2008 : "A landmark event, in more ways than one" - iPhone 3G
WWDC2007 : "Save the date", themed leopard - No hardware
They apparently do have other sources. There are also a lot of other sources as well that have been saying there would be no new iphone 5 this summer. And also, look at the events you list above. When Leopard was introduced at WWDC in there was no hardware. I expect then when they introduce Lion (WWDC 2011), there will be no hardware either, just like all the analysts are saying now. It really is not to hard to wrap your head around people. :p

Besides, Apple is doing the same thing with OS X, it's made for Macs only, and people have always been comparing their sales against Windows.

It is a hardware company that creates software for its hardware. It has never tried to offer it's software as an install option on other hardware, and in-fact has challenged installation of it's software on PC's. You can either be intelligent enough to recognize and compare runners in the same race or you can't. Apple is not in the race to install its OS on any hardware other than its own. It is pretty naive to benchmark a "runner" in a race in which it is not running. If you would measure your personal performance against people not competing against you, would say that is a valid measure? I am a pilot, and to say I am a better pilot than my neighbor (not a pilot) would be a pretty empty and laughable bragging point for me to make.
We don't hear much argument on here about how many more phones Apple sells than Google, because Google does not sell a phone (anymore). So why is it anymore valid to compare how many installs of the iOS there are across global hardware as compared to Android, when Apple provides its iOS to ZERO hardware manufacturers, and Android provides it to all takers. Agreed. The Mac Pro case has been perfected over years and doesn't look at all dated. The more Apple has to pour R&D into a small new case with almost certain version 1 cooling issues, the more likely prices will continue to rise.It would save money with the need for less raw materials.

I am positive that Apple will bring a twist into the mobile telephony market, something revolutionary nobody could think that it will work.
And in 2 years from now everybody will state: Yes, Apple did it again.
I bet they do the following:
- Follow the KISS (Keep it stupit simple) concept and build on there current iPOD success!
The new iPhone will be a WIFI iPOD with Skype (or something alike) build in. A high quality camera and Bluetooth Stereo Wireless will complete the hardware.
The software will allow "on the go" chat, blogging, videocasts, RSS and a mobile safari browser.
Strategy: Replace the need for an iPOD�s and provide the best personal communication tool
- Eliminate traditional phone contracts with MobilePhone operators.
Apple will aquire "FON" and build the largest hotspot community in the world where every iPhone user can communicate for free.
Y'know as far fetched as some might say a lot of that is there's something that makes a lot of sense there too.
If so I'm not surprised Steve keeps seaying that he has something cool coming soon in interviews!

Industrial design is legally protected work. And should be. It doesn't matter how you price your competing product.
How is having a grid of application icons a 'protected work' on a handheld device. The first time I saw this was in the mid to late 90's, and it was not from Apple. Unless it can be shown that Apple patented square icons in a grid pattern, I don't see your point.

It's strange that Android is so popular, I have not seen many people use it so far. I have tried one Android device a few months ago and it was not nearly as responsive, logical, and functional as iOS at all. I mean it wasn't just a matter of subjective preference, that thing was really horrible!
But I imagine Android runs differently on different handsets, and the bigger choice allows for lower price points, so more people buy it. Also, Android is an open-source OS which can be used on anything, while iOS only comes on the limited kinds of devices that Apple makes, which explains why Android is so popular.

Good idea to make it dual purpose as standalone computer or rack mounted server. If the server option takes off, that's good for business but while waiting for that to happen, the product has another purpose.
Now get rid of macbooks and have two lines: macbook pro and air.

The good news is that it sounds like the plant wasn't damaged. While I am sure making batteries for Apple is not on the top of their priority list, their economy starting back up will help speed their recovery. A little bit of good news I hope.

I think this will be and sooner than we might expect. Possibly announced in Jan and available alongside Leopard.

I'm okay following DP for the moment. I'm not so sure that the sequence is as pivotal as portrayed. I think it would be an obvious place, the first starting room, to place vital objects, so exploring is a must. I'm not sure I agree that the "Move, Explore" sequence is more advantageous than the "Explore, Move" sequence. Keeping in mind that we get attacked the moment we move into a room, so we would want to explore it after a monster is vanquished.
Now that she's mi esposa, maybe I can get Beatrice to finally make me a sandwich.

You are the perfect consumer. "Must ... have ... bright ... shiny ... new .... thing", whether you need it or not. So what if apple comes out with a new computer every 6 months? If the one you have does what you need it to - why do you care? If your self-worth is tied up in having the latest computer, you just need therapy. And please don't blame Apple for your debt situation.
I never said that I WAS going to buy one and I probably won't...I usually run a computer 3-4 years, except for my iMac G5 which turned out to be a lemon and that is why I have my Intel one now.

Maybe they will move to at least 2x 2.5" drive slots for SSDs(or laptop hard disk drives if you want) with another 2x 3.5" for traditional storage.
In any event, I'd expect to see 2.5" drive slots somewhere in a new designed mac pro.
