I'm with you to an extent. I love the look of my DVD collection sitting there in the living room, it's nice to have the case with artwork and have it tangible. But at the same time, I have nothing against having all my movies browseable with iTV. If it's set up like the movie trailers are in Front Row, I'll be one happy camper. If it's just the title of the movie then that would be lame, but I'm sure they'll have "cover art" as well.

The iMacs will NEVER see Kentsfields. Apple would have to have put Conroe in the new iMacs for that even to be a remote possibility. Even if they had I would still say it would never get Kentsfields.
I mean people are saying that Conroe is too hot for the iMac as it is (I don't think they are) but Kentsfield is two Conroe dies on one package. Apple still doesn't have upload to a cloud or wireless syncing, and Windows Phone does. 25 GB free sky drive, as well as a beautiful hub where you choose what to access at a glance. In iOS, you have to flick and flick, especially if you have many apps. The wireless syncing is slick. Facebook integration flawless. WP7 also now has cut, copy, and paste and HTML5 before the end of the year. I'm sorry, but hooking up with the largest mobile phone manufacture is a no brainer.

2. No need to flick if you have many Apps, just swipe left from the main Home Page and you have instant access to 'Search', type the first letter of the app you want and there you go. VERY QUICK.

I would be exstatic to get a 720p movie, and like you, I would certainly have no problem waiting the time it would take to download it. I just want HD downloadable content from iTMS, which is why the iTV has me so excited. I may hold off on getting that HD-DVD player until I learn more about it.
And the download, would be platform independent with regards to BluRay or HD-DVD. Cool.

On a more serious and intelligent note, let's hope the screen and the rest of the body have a more seamless and look. The current mirror screen looks like it was slapped on a random body. They just don't go together like the previous gen. The Air looks much better.

It seems very odd that Apple would adopt the iPod nano look 'n' feel on the iPhone, when they've just dropped it on the nano itself. On the other hand, it's possible the nano's look was changed to differentiate it from the upcoming iPhone - though I don't buy it.
The scroll wheel looks very low on the front of the device, meaning it's hard to use it with your thumb without the phone toppling out of your hand (as with many current phones).
Whatever about the design, if Apple could make any attractive phone, which is stable(!!), with a snappy UI (!!!), and with tight integration with the Mac (contacts, calendars/schedulers, perhaps even tighter integration with Address Book), I'd snap it up.

Wonderful... why would Apple choose the carrier with the worst coverage and customer service (well, besides Sprint)??? T-Mobile or Verizon would be better choices...
You know, if Cingular didn't spend the $$$ to get all of the cool phones first, I think they would be out of business by now... If someone has had a different experience with Cingular, please let me know ;)

It could be a cash cow for Apple, if it does sell 25-million phones. People want stylish phones - look how the ROKR took off (sadly, now everyone has one, it's considered naff...) - so that figure seems realistic if the product is right.
I hope the Apple phone will be 3G. Is there any indication of this? Surely Apple wouldn't go with the old 2G technology.

I guess you could say "There's a droid for that", but following my analogy it would be just like a swap meet with a big seller taking up the central aisles.
But that doesn't mean that now you can reach everyone. The Android swap meet excludes BlackBerry, Palm, Symbian, WinMo and Apple customers. You end up with a smaller customer base, with such a diverse set of user needs that you end up pulling your hair out trying to meet every Android phone manufacturer's device specs. :confused:

Very hard to say, but 3G is not taking to the rest of the world very well, especially the US as they can't get 2/2.5G to work properly yet. This is about the only occasion when the UK really is doing well.

Unless an app is breaking the law, then they have no authority and should have no reason to concern themselves with apps.
It's already been said, these checkpoints are posted in local papers, this is just an app that makes that information easier to access.
I bet Apple pulls them. RIM already did. Companies far too often cave to the illogical or crazies rather than standing up for what is logical and right.

Yes that's right. I always have Activity Monitor on so I can see exactly what's going on with my four cores. I have the sort on the percentage column on the left followed by the application name and then I stick it in the lower right corner of my two screens. By keeping it open I can make sure nothing has crashed.It looks like Activity Monitor is the best approach then. Thanks though!
