Defence Secy Gotabhaya Rajapaksa greets Russian Ambassador Valdimir P. Mikhaylov
The report prepared by a panel of experts appointed by the UN Secretary General on accountability issues relating to alleged violations of international human rights and humanitarian law in Sri Lanka during the last phase of the humanitarian operations is not a UN report, says Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Sri Lanka Valdimir P. Mikhaylov.
The Ambassador said that the report at issue had been prepared neither by a UN body nor at the request of the UN. It had been just a personal initiative of the UN Secretary General. "We should be more precise in definitions not to mislead public," Ambassador Mikhaylov said.
