Japan nuke blast: No effect on Lanka, monitoring continues

The blast in the Fukushima Daini nuclear power plant has not affected Sri Lanka. No one has been reported to have been contaminated upto now, Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Authority (SLAEA) Chairman Wimaladharma Abeywickrama said. The SLAEA has opened a special unit to test people arriving in Sri Lanka from Japan or any other country affected by nuclear radiation, he said.
This unit has been established at the Atomic Energy Authority, Baseline Road, Orugodawatte.
