Welcome to Notjustnat Christmas. I have more Christmas decorations to share with you. I have been busy making gifts, but they are not quite ready to show you just yet. Here are some I have been collecting over the years. Some of them I have made and some are bought ones. All in all they are very memorable to our family. So stay awhile and enjoy...!
A plastic candy cane is very durable and tough. I had it for years now. I have used it differently each year. This year I decided to use it as door decoration with the wreath I made out of Muehlenbeckia vine that I have growing outside our garage. I just love this vine, and I also use it for basket weaving. The vine turns dark brown and stays that way forever. Very versatile.
A few more decorations from different parts of the house. On the top left photo is my red-work collection. Top right is the coffee table decoration. I use my small quilt and leftover baubles for that this year. The bottom left is part of my Santa collection. You can see the new Santas I bought in Sydney this year. The bottom right is my tree collections. They are getting fuller each year.
These Angels are my favorites. You know people do have favorite Christmas decorations! I found these knitted Angels at the Swedish Christmas market last year and the porcelain one was also from there. These Angels are part of my stick tree decorations. I only use white, glass, gold and Angels decorations for this tree. You can see the full tree on the header.
I do quilt every now and then too! I started this stick Santa quilt after last Christmas. You can see I started quilting on it. It hasn't got very far. I will get back to it again soon (my famous last word).
My holiday cloths from Jude made to go on t-shirts. The blue one is finished and on the t-shirt I wore at my work Christmas lunch a few weeks ago. The red cloth is still in progress and it will be finished in time for me to wear on our last day of work. Not a lot of stitching, but they are very effective.
My Sweet Santa quilt. This quilt took me many years to complete, but I did it and I am very very happy. I have put it out every Christmas since. In front of it are my Santa collections. I specially collected Santas with kind and happy faces. Some of them are as old as my children now.
A small red-work tree I have up in my sewing room. I did those embroideries on my trip to NYC. Stitching them was the best thing because I got mugged while I was there and as soon as we got back to the hotel I was so shaken that stitching these red-works calmed my nerves down quite a lot.
Miniature bear collections. The smaller ones I have made out of felt and the larger ones on top of the cabinet were gifts to me from my friend Debbie in the UK (no blog). A few bunnies having a picnic on the bottom right.
My main tree in full with gold star on top. I'm still waiting for the hearts from the exhibition to go on it. The exhibition ends tomorrow so the tree will be a bit fuller with those hearts.
It's a busy time of year. Hope everyone is enjoying getting together with friends and family. We are having Christmas here at home with DD Kit After that we are going of to see DS and his family. Just in case I don't get to see you before Christmas. Have a wonderful Christmas and a happy holiday.
