My yesterday is now today

My plans for yesterday got all botched up so now I need to do them today.  They include driving to Orlando to the furrier to pick up my pieces made from my long coyote coat.  I hope the result is as good as I imagine, although I wouldn't trust the job to anyone else than LaBelle Furs.  They've been in business for 90 years, and have the highest reputation.

But let me give some background about yesterday.

On this past chilly Monday, as soon as I started the Vette, a warning light came on and the monitoring system displayed a message about low tire pressure on left front.  After about a mile all indicators went off.

I called Ferman and spoke with my Service Advisor.  He said the indicator light was for the tire pressure and because of the cold weather the nitrogen had contracted.  Or something like that.

On the chilly Tuesday morning, the same light came on the same message appeared.  This time it stayed on for about 3 miles.

My plan was to take the car in, yesterday,  to the local automotive place for nitrogen refill in the tires.  And then I was going to proceed to Haines City for Mom visits and then to Orlando to LaBelle Furs.  But ... the tire guy told me that several of his staff called in and wouldn't be able to help me till 1pm.

Okay.

I drove off, wondering if I should just go to Ferman in Brandon and get the nitrogen, but A&D Automotive put the fear of God in me about driving on low tire pressure.  So I didn't chance it.

At 1pm yesterday I went back to A&D. Guess what .... their nitrogen hose broke.  Oh no.  I asked "when did this happen" and he replied "oh, about a week ago."  What???  Thanks a lot.

I went to the Firestone dealer downtown, parked the car, walked into the customer area and explained my dilemma.  Guess what.  They don't have nitrogen.  Only air.  What????  Whoever heard of a tire store not carrying nitrogen.  Another Florida moment.

By this time I was so pissed off because I had just blown half a day and still had nothing accomplished.

I called Ferman, listened to the spiel about the cold weather again, and he told me to drive on over.  I was so very cautious, maintaining the speed limit (65) on the Crosstown, and arrived safely.

The service advisor started again about the cold weather in the mornings, and I stopped him.  "Look, 60's is not cold."  He laughed and said "OK, let me rephrase.  Because of the sudden temperature drop .... blah blah blah."

Listen to me rambling.  The bottom line is that I got nitrogen brought up to levels on all 4 tires and I'm good to go.

Leaving here after I get off this blog, shower, take Maguire out one lat time, then I'm on the road, hopefully no later than 8:15a.

I'll go up to Orlando first, the rush hour traffic should be done by the time I get there.  Then visit both moms and head home.
