Yesterday I made my daily phone call to Hillsborough County School Bus Department. The supervisor I spoke with said that she was getting "over" these school buses running that stop sign and if things didn't improve, she was going to call Tampa Police Department.
But first she'd send out a monitor to the intersection, and asked me exactly where it was.
This morning at 6:50am, lo and behold, slowly approched a county vehicle. Wasn't quite sure where to park, drove up and down the street in front of the condo and finally parked directly across the intersection. A white county vehicle, with the following written in big letters on the side: Hillsborough County School Bus Department. Oh great.
I called down to her, and told her there was guest parking at the north end of the condo and she could park her car there, to get it out of view. She moved her vehicle down there and she's now at the sidewalk, clipboard in hand.
I offered to come up to the balcony so she could have a bird's eye view, but she wanted to stay down there.
She then asked me "what time do the school buses start?" Excuse me .... shouldn't I be asking YOU that? I mean, you're the one that works for the school bus department. Grrr.
After several minutes down there, she asked me if I've reported to Tampa Police about all the cars that are running that stop sign. I replied that first I was working on the school buses loaded with children, the vehicles would be next.
One thing at a time.
